The device is organized around the ADF7021V chip transceiver of Analog Device used in GFSK mode with narrow band 12.5 or 25 kHz canalisation. It comprises: ♦ the microcontroller (μC), configurable from serial port and dedicated SW; it taken care the device management and protocol communication. The μC controls transceiver radio, UART , criterion R/T for an external RS485 interface , selection HW of the 6 available channels ( or selectable by dedicated configuration SW ), the synchronism generation for data decoder, etc. ♦ the filter circuit and data decoder that for technical reasons we have preferred to realize separately. ♦ the reference circuit realized with a 1 ppm TCXO from - 30 to +70°C; power supply stabilized. ♦ the transmission amplifier working in class AB and temperature compensated, max 500 mW for allowed applications. ♦ the harmonic filter in TX and SAW filter in RX in order to optimize harmonic emissions and RF selectivity. The radiomodem works in Store & Forward. In transmission the data are applied, level TTL, to pin TxD of the UART ( to level RS232 using an external interface type MAX232 or RS485 employing an interface type MAX485 controlled from R/T criterion available on JP1 connector ). If the module is not configured through dedicated program DL148SW the UART, for default, is predisposed in order to operate to 9600 b/s, 8, N, 1, NO flow control. The transceiver , in this case, can operate on 6 selectable radio channels through criteria CH0, CH1, CH2 , canalization 25 kHz and 9600 b/s data rate radio in synchronous mode; the radio protocol is broadcasting transparent to the user.
